Love-erotic Therapy for liberation from various addictions

According to a survey carried out in 1999 on more than 100 people who had received A.A. Makaja's love-erotic therapy, 90% of those surveyed were permanently cured of their addictions, including those to hard drugs, even after only six to twelve months of therapy. On the assumption that any disorder can only be cured by eliminating its causes, we specify five main causes of drug addiction: alienation from one’s true self; the consequences of sexual abuse and dysfunctional sexual/love-erotic patterns; dysfunctional patterns resulting from religious upbringing; excessive stress in our present performance-oriented society; and incorrect nutrition. Seven principle methods are used in love-erotic therapy: Komaja Meditation is the cornerstone of treatment, both for preventive and curative purposes. Its objective is to promote health in body and mind, the fundamentals of which are to restore or reinforce a connection with one’s true self. In this way, a client gains access to the vital force essential for a healthy and independent life. In addition to Love-Meditation, a form of meditation to develop one’s ability to love, several other methods come into play:  tantric work for utilising sexual energy as a means of self-realisation; the Theatre of Truth to create awareness of one’s psychic content during love-play; polytherapy, a spiritual, manifold therapeutic method and was developed by Makaja; the development of social skills through communal living, as well as strictly focusing one’s attention on matters other than the addiction. Makaja's projects of love-erotic therapy receive state-sponsored and private financial support.

Makaja’s concept of "Love-erotic therapy" to cure drug addiction has helped him gain great esteem. Thus, in 1999 he was invited to the symposium "Mladi i Droga" organized by Zagreb University.  His lecture was published in the anthology of the same name as one of the exclusive works.
At the beginning of 2001, the Komaja Society in Macedonia received ideational and financial backing by the governmental Bureau for Youth and Sports; the non-governmental Institute for Enduring Communities, which is under patronage of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); as well as the Department for Health, Labour and Social Welfare of the City of Zagreb (Croatia). At the end of June 2001 Makaja presented his original and extremely effective therapy for the treatment of various addictions at the World Congress of Sexology in Paris.
